Charlie Kirk assassination: Will Donald Trump revoke visas of foreigners who mocked ally’s death? What he said

US President Donald Trump on Sunday said that he is “looking at names” when reporters asked him if he would revoke visas of foreigners who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination. “We haven’t (starting revoking visas), but we are looking at names,” Trump told reporters. “We don’t like that. That’s not right.”He added, “We wouldn’t celebrate if something happened on their side. And we don’t. These are sick people. These are really deranged people.”

Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University, where he was sitting on a stage during his signature “Prove Me Wrong” debate on Wednesday last week. In the last few days, several people were fired or suspended from their jobs over their reactions on social media to the assassination of Kirk. As authorities in numerous states clamp down on critical commentary, numerous including journalists, politicians, teachers, firefighters, a secret service employee, a junior strategist at Nasdaq, and a worker for NFL team, were fired, suspended or censured. This comes after the US President Donald Trump’s administration vowed to take action against foreign nationals who praised, rationalised or made light of Kirk’s assassination. According to NBC News, defence secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered his staff “to find and identify military members, and any individual associated with the Pentagon, who have mocked or appeared to condone Charlie Kirk’s murder.”
