Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hit out at the Congress and the RJD over the issue of infiltration in the state, saying that the opposition has not only threatened the honour of Bihar but also the identity of Bihar.

While addressing a public rally in Purnea, PM Modi warned that every infiltrator will have to leave the country.

“Today, a huge demographic crisis has arisen due to infiltrators in Seemanchal and Eastern India. People of Bihar, Bengal, Assam and many states are worried about the safety of their sisters and daughters,” he said.

“Today, from this land of Purnea, I want to explain one thing to these people clearly. RJD and Congress people, listen to me with open ears. Whoever is an infiltrator will have to go. It is the firm responsibility of the NDA to stop infiltration,” he added.

He accused the Congress, RJD and its ecosystem of advocating for infiltrators, saying that these people have been “saving them and shamelessly raising slogans and taking out yatras to save infiltrators who have come from abroad. These people want to put both the resources and security of Bihar and the country at stake.”

PM Modi further challenged the opposition leaders to come forward and save the infiltrators. “No matter how much effort you put in to save the infiltrators, we will continue to work on the resolve of removing the infiltrators…This is Modi’s guarantee. Action will be taken against the infiltrators and the country will also see its good results,” he said.

The Prime Minister further vowed that the people of Bihar are going to give a befitting reply to the Congress and RJD in the upcoming state legislative assembly elections.

The Prime Minister also lambasted the Congress over a controversial social media post by the party’s Kerala unit that appeared to mock the state, saying that the opposition never stays back to defame Bihar.

He said that recently, the people of Congress compared the state with a Beedi (tobacco), which is a direct insult to Bihar. The Prime Minister further said that the previous governments of the Congress and the RJD have been neglecting the state for decades.

“Today, they are not able to digest the development of Bihar. Congress and RJD never stay back to defame the state,” he said.

PM Launches Projects Worth Rs 36,000 Crore

The Prime Minister launched and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 36,000 crore.

He also inaugurated a newly developed airport terminal in the north Bihar town, fulfilling the region’s long-standing demand for air connectivity.

PM Modi also launched the National Makhana Board, announced by the Centre in the Union Budget earlier this year.

Further, he laid the foundation stone for a 3 x 800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, which is slated to be Bihar’s largest private sector investment worth Rs 25,000 crore.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for Phase 1 of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project worth over Rs 2,680 crore.

He also participated in Griha Pravesh ceremonies for 35,000 rural beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin and 5,920 under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Urban. He also handed over keys to a few beneficiaries of the housing project.

The Beedi Row

The now-deleted post, shared by Congress’s Kerala unit, stated that “Bihar and Bidi start with B”, sparking political outrage and giving fresh ammunition to the BJP to target the opposition alliance.

The post, shared on the official X handle of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, was intended to mock Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s frequent use of alliteration during his speeches. However, the phrasing quickly triggered backlash for being derogatory towards Bihar and Biharis.
