After a wait for over three decades, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, on Tuesday, finally received his first National Award. The actor was presented with the National Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi and wife, Gauri Khan could not be any more proud. In a heartfelt post on her Instagram handle, Gauri shared a photo of her hubby looking dashing in his black suit with the Indian flag pinned on his chest.

Sharing a photo, Gauri wrote, “What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! Shah Rukh thanks his family for their support
Back in August, Shah Rukh had acknowledged the unwavering support of his family throughout his film journey. In a touching post he shared, “My wife and kids, who over the last few years have given me so much more love and care as if I am the kid in the house, and want only the best for me. They know my obsession with cinema takes me away from them, but they all bear it with a smile and allow me the time.”Shah Rukh Khan, who was shooting overseas for his film King, flew back in time to attend the 71st National Film Awards ceremony in Delhi.

The actor was in the country just last Thursday, to be by son Aryan Khan’s side as he made his directorial debut with ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. After the grand red carpet premiere of the web series, the actor flew back to Poland to resume the shoot for the action film that will see him sharing screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan. The film also marks his 6th reunion with Deepika Padukone and first on-screen venture with Abhishek Bachchan.
