A staggered land transaction in Pune has been cancelled amid allegations of misconduct involving a 40-acre plot in the upscale Mundhwa area. The land, originally belonging to the government, was the subject of a proposed deal worth ₹300 crore with a firm in which Parth Pawar is a partner. The company involved is Amadea Enterprises LLP.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that neither his son nor his business partner was aware that the land was government‐owned at the time the deal was entered into. He confirmed the transaction has now been scrapped, asserting that no money has exchanged hands and the deal did not reach completion.

A high‐level committee, led by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge and including the Pune District Collector, Inspector General of Registration & Stamps, and other senior officials, has been formed to investigate the unauthorized registration of documents related to Survey No 88 in Mouje Mundhwa. The panel has been given a deadline of one month to submit its findings.

Meanwhile, the opposition has criticised the government for what they call the “theft” of land that was reserved for Scheduled Castes under ‘Mahar Watan’ rules — and the alleged waiver of stamp duty worth crores of rupees. Activist Anna Hazare weighed in, saying that if children of ministers are involved in wrongdoing, responsibility ultimately lies with the minister.
