kThe MAGA chief has dragged several other high-profile names into the infamous Epstein scandal, which Democrats have accused him of being a major part of.US President Donald Trump has said he will ask the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate big figures linked to pedophile and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, starting a political fight over newly released emails by Democrats.Trump announced on Friday in a Truth Social post, claiming Democrats were using the “Epstein Hoax” to distract from a government shutdown and other issues. “Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” Trump said.He continued, “This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’ Stay tuned!!!”
How Trump ‘knew about the underage girls in Epstein’s house’
The post came days after the House Oversight Committee released a series of emails involving Epstein in which he spoke about Trump. In a 2018 exchange about Michael Cohen’s guilty plea, Epstein said, “I know how dirty donald is.” In another message that year, he wrote, “its wild. because I am the one able to take him down.”Other emails have raised further questions. In an April message sent to author Michael Wolff, Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls.” Lawmakers also showed a 2011 email to Ghislaine Maxwell in which Epstein wrote, “I want you to realize that the dog that hasn’t barked is trump.” He added that a person identified by lawmakers as a victim “spent hours at my house with” Trump, saying, “He has never once been mentioned.”Trump has repeatedly denied knowing about Epstein’s abuse of underage girls and said they fell out in the early 2000s. His new call for investigations also comes as the House prepares for a vote on whether to force the release of long-withheld federal files related to Epstein, which the Justice Department has refused to make public despite earlier assurances from officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi.
