Jay Pawar, the son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is set to tie the knot with Rutuja Patil. The duo will get married in a destination wedding in Bahrain. With around 400 guests, the wedding festivities will begin on December 4 and conclude on December 7. The festivities will include traditional ceremonies such as the mehendi and baraat.
Despite being a high-profile event, the wedding is expected to remain intimate with a carefully curated guest list. Close family members and key political figures are likely to attend. Among them are Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working president Praful Patel and Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare.

Jay Pawar is the younger son of Ajit Pawar and MP Sunetra Pawar. According to the Free Press Journal, Jay has not entered active politics, unlike his elder brother Parth. He campaigned for his mother, Sunetra Pawar, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Jay also campaigned for his father in the state elections held the same year.
Rutuja Patil is the daughter of businessman Pravin Patil. As per her LinkedIn profile, she studied psychology at the University of Mumbai. Rutuja also has degrees from FIDM Los Angeles and ISDI Mumbai in Digital marketing. According to reports, Rutuja worked briefly with the public relations firm Adfactors PR. She later joined her father, Pravin Patil’s consultancy, ElevateEdge Consulting Group. Rutuja’s sister got married into the Kesari Travels Patil family.

According to reports, Pravin Patil is a well-known businessman. He hails from Phaltan in Maharashtra’s Satara district. Patil runs ElevateEdge Consulting Group as well as a social media company that supported Ajit and Sunetra Pawar’s election campaigns in 2024. Patil maintains a low public profile.

Jay Pawar and Rutuja Patil’s wedding festivities will take place in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. The Ritz-Carlton hotel will host all the ceremonies and events.

December 4: Mehendi Ceremony
The celebrations commence with the Mehendi ceremony. This will be the first of the traditional pre-wedding rituals.
December 5: Haldi, Baarat, and Main Wedding
The Haldi ceremony, the Baarat procession, and the primary wedding rituals will happen on this day.
December 6: Sangeet and Beach Games
The afternoon has been set aside for beach games. This will be followed by the evening Sangeet performance.
December 7: Reception
The four-day festivities will conclude with a reception for 400 guests.
Reports state that no separate off-site external resorts or banquet halls will be used. Specific hall names for the functions have not been publicly disclosed. However, the Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies are described as hotel functions, meaning the Ritz-Carlton’s ballrooms and themed indoor-outdoor venues could be used. The main wedding, Haldi, Baarat and reception are also likely to take place in the banquet halls, beachside zones and lawn/sea-facing areas of the Ritz-Carlton.
Any Bollywood Celebrities Or Famous Politicians Attending?
Approximately 400 people will attend Jay Pawar and Rutuja Patil’s wedding in Bahrain. The majority of the guests are close to the Pawar and Patil families. Despite the political divide within the Pawar family, this event is bringing together relatives and close associates to celebrate the occasion.
As of now, no Bollywood celebrities have been linked with the event, highlighting the private nature of the ceremonies.
