Madhuri Dixit reveals why 90s superstars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan are still relevant: ‘They made consistently good films and invested a lot of themselves in their work.’

Madhuri Dixit, known for iconic movies like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, and ‘Beta’, ruled the roost and hearts of people in the 90s. She had shared screen space with industry peers like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and others . In a candid interview, she recently opened up about why the actors from the 90s are relevant in Indian cinema today.

During the interview with Mid-Day’s Sit With Hitlist, Dixit believes longevity never comes by chance. She said, “I think it’s consistency. They made consistently good films and invested a lot of themselves in their work. And I’m not talking just about money, I’m talking about themselves.

Dixit also pointed out that many stars took control of their journeys by becoming producers. “They worked diligently, never gave up, and never rested on their laurels. I think that’s what really helps longevity.” she added.

Madhuri Dixit on why she truly feels about Shah Rukh Khan

Speaking about Shah Rukh Khan, Dixit shared, “Shah Rukh was more outgoing and charming”.Dixit highlighted how he makes people around him feel comfortable, “He makes sure he looks after women, not just his co-stars, but everyone working with him. He’s extremely witty and smart and can talk about anything under the sun. He has a lovely personality, and we got along so well” She added. When reminded of Shah Rukh once calling her his best co-star, Madhuri brushed it off, and said, “I didn’t teach anyone anything,” she said. “I think he meant his own observations of me. When you dance together or do scenes together, there’s a lot of give-and-take. We often get surprised by the way the other performs and does a particular thing.”
