As the power tussle in Karnataka continues, Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar once again stirred the speculations. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Shivakumar said, “only time will answer,” and also emphasised that everyone must adhere to the decisions made by the Congress high command.
Shivakumar, who also serves as the state Congress President, made these remarks amidst the power struggle with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The issue has resurfaced, particularly after Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra asserted that his father would complete his five-year term, as endorsed by the party high command.
Addressing the media, Shivakumar acknowledged the widespread desire among people, legislators, and media for him to become Chief Minister. “People, legislators, you (media), and everyone have the desire, but we should all abide by what the party says,” he said.
Shivakumar also backed his loyalists who want to see him on the CM’s chair. In their support, he said, “We have to listen to what the party says. There is nothing wrong with leaders who wish to see their leader as chief minister. I cannot ask them not to. Only time will answer.”
When questioned about the possibility of becoming Chief Minister after the upcoming state budget, Shivakumar reiterated his stance, saying, “time will answer.”
