Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off India’s first Namo Bharat RRTS in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and attacked the opposition, saying projects under the BJP do not face delays and that earlier governments were involved in scams.
He inaugurated the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and the Meerut Metro (Meerut South-Modipuram), dedicating projects worth around Rs 12,930 crores to the nation.
‘Viksit UP, Viksit Bharat’
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said, “Viksit UP, Viksit Bharat is gaining momentum.”
He said the inauguration reflects the double engine commitment of the BJP. He added that projects undertaken during their tenure do not get delayed like they used to earlier.
He said the BJP is focused on working for the benefit of the people and passengers. He claimed that under Congress and SP, such development was not possible and that those parties were indulged in scams.
Benefits for Meerut and connectivity
The Prime Minister said the project will benefit the people of Meerut and that the new connectivity will make it easier for people to travel to Delhi.
He said his government has taken the metro network to up to 25 cities.
The Prime Minister said he spoke with students and other passengers during the visit and that they were amazed to witness the development.
He also said that law and order has become better.
Focus on women and development
The Prime Minister said the Namo Metro Rail project will benefit nari shakti, as key positions will be given to women.
Hitting out at the opposition, he said, “Let’s fight on development.” He added that for his government, the nation’s development has always been the only priority.
