New Delhi: Retail chain Shoppers Stop on Tuesday reported a consolidated loss of 16.35 crore for the March quarter.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1.99 crore in the January-March period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by Shoppers Stop.

The retail firm is promoted by the Raheja family.

Its revenue from operations increased 13.7 per cent to Rs 1,209.79 crore in the March quarter. It was Rs 1,064 crore a year ago.

The company’s total expenses climbed 14 per cent to Rs 1,241.99 crore in the March quarter of FY26.

“During the quarter, we launched 9 stores, 4 departments, 4 INTUNE and 1 HomeStop. Capital investment during the quarter was Rs 25 crore,” said an earnings statement from Shoppers Stop.

During the quarter, premium brands contributed 71 per cent to total sales. Sales of the beauty segment were Rs 309 crore, recording 17 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis, led by fragrance.

Sales from INTUNE, its affordable retail format, increased 24 per cent to Rs 67 crore.

The total income of Shoppers Stop, which includes other income, rose 12.6 per cent to Rs 1,218.42 crore.

For the entire FY26, Shoppers Stop reported a loss of Rs 36.09 crore.

Its total consolidated income climbed 8.83 per cent to Rs 5,095.46 crore in FY26.

Commenting on results, its MD and CEO Kavindra Mishra said: “We delivered a resilient performance in Q4 and FY26 in a challenging environment, driven by disciplined execution and a continued focus on premiumization”.

“During the year, we partly retired debt to the extent of Rs 109 crore and remain on track to become debt-free by FY27.”

Over the outlook, he said, “We are encouraged by resilience in consumption despite global uncertainty and Supply Chain disruptions. The Indian fashion market is gaining momentum, led by fast fashion and premium/ bridge-to-luxury segments”.

Supply chain disruptions may create some inflationary pressures, but the company expects the demand scenario to remain healthy, he said.

Spread across 113 department stores, Shoppers Stop also operates 12 premium home concept stores, 73 Speciality Beauty stores of M.A.C, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Jo Malone, NARS, ARMANI beauty, PRADA BEAUTY and SS Beauty, 84 Intune stores and 13 Airport doors, occupying an area of 4.5 M sq ft.

Shares of Shoppers Stop on Tuesday settled at Rs 295.15 apiece on the BSE, down 1.60 per cent from the previous close.
