Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee praised India’s batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after his sensational start to international cricket.
The 15-year-old sensation has hogged the limelight after his prolific knock for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Sooryavanshi made his debut for India and immediately scored two half-centuries against Zimbabwe in the three-match T20I series.
Brett Lee lauded 15-year-old Indian cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, praising his T20I debut with two half-centuries and impressive IPL stats, calling him a great find but advising against too much pressure.
“I’m stunned by the lad, he is unbelievable. The word is out that he is 15, everybody is asking that question, away from India, but I have got to tell you, it doesn’t matter to me if he is 15, 17, or 18. The boy can play the game, he has been a great find for India and he will achieve big things for them,” said Brett Lee.
“He is incredible. Everyone offshore, away from India, asks the question if he’s 15,” said Lee while reacting to Sooryavanshi’s talent on a YouTube video.
“I don’t know if he’s 17 or 18 or 20. The kid can play cricket. He has been such a great find for India, and he is going to go on and achieve bigger and better things,” he added.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: ‘Don’t put too much pressure’
While talking about the teenager’s ton against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lee said that Sooryavanshi has faced the best pace bowling and pulled it off with a positive attitude.
“He was up against the Aussie quicks, and they were going good. He was hooking them all over his nose,” said Lee.
“But the one thing I will say about the lad is that the pressure will get to him. It won’t be his game, it won’t be his shot or his strokeplay, it will be his mind, don’t put too much pressure on the boy. Let him enjoy his cricket and his childhood,” added Lee.

Sooryavanshi has set the scene on fire with his sensational knocks for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. The youngster has scored 193 runs at an average of 32.16 in six T20I matches so far.
Meanwhile, the teenager has been in sublime form in the IPL, with 1028 runs in 23 matches at an average of 44.69, including two centuries.
