Bangladesh scripted history once again by beating Australia in Test cricket.
Najmul Hossain Shanto’s men pulled off a stunning nine-wicket win in Darwin after Australia had managed to bat out 23 years since their last visit to the country.
Bangladesh achieved their first-ever Test cricket win in Australia, securing a dominant nine-wicket victory over the hosts in Darwin following exceptional performances by Hasan Mahmud (6/55) and Tanzid Tamim (101).
Not that it was close or a nail-biter either. Bangladesh were just too good for Australia
Bangladesh vs Australia Match Report
The first innings by Bangladesh’s seamers laid the foundation for the win as they dismantled the Australian top order in Darwin on a green-stained wicket.

Hasan Mahmud stood out in the 6/55 career best performance as he spearheaded the demolition job. Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain chipped in with crucial contributions as Australia were bowled out for just 198 in reply to Bangladesh’s 199.
Bangladesh then displayed their mettle with the bat as opener Tanzid Tamim stood firm against the Australian bowling to score a brilliant 101 off 197 deliveries.
That set up Tamim and Shanto to post a competitive total as the chasing side needed a big score in the second innings. However, Australia did not manage to do so as Bangladesh’s bowlers once again stood up to the task and did not allow the home side to post a challenging total.
Dominant. Commanding. Controlling.
These are all words to describe a proud moment in Bangladesh history, because they have THUMPED Australia in Australia to win a Test by nine wickets! pic.twitter.com/MGUXtIySP9

Historical Win
This is Bangladesh’s first-ever win in Australia in Test cricket and their third ever Test match in the country. They have endured years of frustration in Australia as they faced commercial pressures in hosting Tests there
However, on Sunday, it was the Tigers who made the home side feel frustrated as they defeated them with ease. Australia had home advantage, and Bangladesh had the advantage of history. It seems history was on the Tigers’ side in Darwin.
