Campus Activewear has appointed Rakesh Thakur as its chief financial officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel, as the sports and athleisure footwear company looks to strengthen financial governance and support its next phase of profitable growth. Thakur brings nearly 23 years of experience across consumer-focused organisations, including boAt, Hindustan Unilever, GSK Consumer Healthcare, Samsung India and PepsiCo India.
Before joining Campus Activewear, Thakur served as Group CFO at boAt, where he worked with the founders, CEO and board on the company’s financial and strategic agenda. During his tenure, he focused on profitable growth, EBITDA improvement, cash flow and working capital management, debt reduction and governance. He has also held senior finance roles at Hindustan Unilever and GSK Consumer Healthcare, with experience spanning finance transformation, business restructuring, supply chain strategy and integration.
The appointment comes as Campus Activewear continues to report growth in its business. In Q1 FY27, the company recorded revenue of Rs 385.2 crore, up 12.2 per cent year-on-year, while sales volumes increased 11.7 per cent to 57.1 million pairs. As CFO, Thakur will work with the leadership team and board on financial efficiency, margins, cash generation, capital allocation and governance, while developing systems and processes to support the company’s expansion. Campus Activewear currently operates seven manufacturing facilities with an annual assembly capacity of 30.7 million pairs and has more than 31,000 retail touchpoints across over 850 districts in India.
