High-voltage drama unfolded on the streets of New Delhi on Wednesday as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was detained alongside senior INDIA bloc leaders during an intense anti-CEC protest march towards Jantar Mantar. Despite the political friction on the ground, social media visuals captured a composed gesture from the Congress leader, who was seen handing out water bottles to on-duty police personnel directly from the window of the detention bus. The Congress leader was later released.
Interacting warmly with the officers stationed outside the vehicle, Gandhi reassured them, remarking, “You are all doing your work,” as security forces attempted to manage crowd movements amid escalating political tensions.

Tyres Deflated: Party Workers Force Bus to Grind to a Halt
The detention operation hit an immediate hurdle at the Kasturba Gandhi (KG) Marg junction when enthusiastic Congress supporters deflated and punctured the tyres of the transport bus carrying Gandhi and other senior parliamentarians. The intentional disabling of the vehicle brought the police convoy to an abrupt standstill, triggering widespread chaos along the busy central Delhi transit corridor.
