FIR Registered Against Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra Over Akashvani Bhawan Entry During EC Protest
An FIR has been registered against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others for allegedly entering the Akashvani Bhawan premises without permission during an Opposition protest in Delhi. The FIR follows a complaint from Akashvani staffers against the leaders, MPs and others accompanying them. Rahul and Priyanka were briefly detained after an over eight-hour sit-in at the premises. The protest began after police stopped INDIA bloc MPs from marching towards the Election Commission office over “vote chori” allegations. Police said around 250 people, including 50 MPs, were detained. The Opposition was also demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
