Kapil Mishra says, “All promises made in the manifesto and the vision of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) for Delhi will be implemented on priority.”

Kapil Mishra has been given charge of seven departments.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kapil Mishra on Monday assumed charge as the cabinet minister at the in Delhi secretariat, as his wife and mother watched with pride. Mishra has been given charge of seven departments – law and justice; labour; employment; development; art and culture; tourism; and language.
Speaking to News18, Mishra said all departments have been asked to work towards fulfilling all the promises that the BJP made in its manifesto. “All promises made in the manifesto and the vision of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) for Delhi will be implemented on priority,” he said.
The minister said that all promises will be fulfilled in a time-bound manner and each department under him will soon come up with a 100-day action plan.
Earlier in the day, at the Delhi assembly, he took oath as the MLA in Sanskrit. Last week, along with chief minister Rekha Gupta, Mishra had taken oath as the cabinet minister.
In the assembly, Mishra, while targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), called it a “historic day”. He said those who were considering themselves as the owners of Delhi, have been shown the exit door. “In the 10 years in the assembly, they insulted the Constitution and the country. The resolve of the government, CM Rekha Gupta and the entire cabinet is to restore the dignity of the house and work as a servant (of the people),” Mishra said.
SECOND-TIME MLA, MINISTER
It is the second time that Mishra is a part of the Delhi cabinet.
When the AAP formed the government for the first time in 2015, Mishra was made the minister of water resources. That time he won from the Karawal Nagar seat and was a first-time MLA.
But in May 2017, he was suspended from the AAP after he levelled corruption charges against then CM Arvind Kejriwal and other cabinet colleagues.
He switched sides with the BJP and contested the elections in 2020 from the Model Town constituency, but failed.
In 2025, the BJP trusted him again. Mishra won as an MLA from Karawal Nagar constituency.
