President Donald Trump called Michigan Congressman, Indian-origin Shri Thandedar a “lunatic” after Thanedar brought articles of impeachment against the president. Trump said he had never heard of this person and was not sure whether he was even a Congressman. “This guy, he said, he said, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start the impeachment of Donald Trump. What the hell did I do?” Trump said.
MAGA activists have been up in arms against Thanedar. Laura Loomer, who is known for her racist remarks, said her Indian friends have been blowing up her phone, telling her that this “guy is an embarrassment to the Indian community”. “How is this guy in Congress? His own community doesn’t even like him. If anyone needs to be impeached, it’s him,” Laura Loomer posted, listing Thanedar’s financial scams.
Loomer said Thanedar’s campaign has nearly $800,000 in debt, but he managed to put up ‘impeach Trump’ hoardings in Detroit.
Conservative commentator Liz Wheeler said Shri Thanedat is actually tricking Trump haters into donating to his “impeach Trump” cause. “But Shri is gonna use the money to pay his bills, not to impeach Trump. And ZERO Democrats are condemning Shri’s corruption…because they don’t care. They hate Trump too much,” Wheeler said.
Did Shri Thanedar’s company torture dogs for pharmaceutical tests?
Old complaints against Thanedar resurfaced after his impeachment articles. One of those complaints said Thandar’s company which went bankrupt in 2010 abandoned 173 dogs and monkeys. One report claimed 118 beagles were stuck inside the facility while the company was already shut. At that time, Thanedar said he had no knowledge about what the bank did with those animals after his company got shut down. He said his company did not harm any animal; they were not subjected to any harmful conditions and no electric experiments were conducted.
