'Rotten newspaper': Trump once again lashes out at The Wall Street Journal

US President Donald Trump has once again turned his ire on the media, this time targeting The Wall Street Journal, which he accused of “going to hell” and being a “rotten newspaper.” The comments came during a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One, where Trump took aim at the publication with his characteristic bluntness.
“Who are you with? The Wall Street Journal has truly gone to hell. It is a rotten newspaper,” Trump declared, making it clear that his frustration with the outlet had reached new heights. This was not the first time the president has criticised the influential newspaper, which has often been at odds with his administration on key issues.
Trump’s latest outburst follows a string of public disagreements with various media outlets, with The Wall Street Journal often in his crosshairs. While Trump did not specify the reason for his attack, his criticism appears to stem from the newspaper’s editorial stance and coverage of his policies.
In the same vein, Trump had earlier also spoken about his relationship with other media moguls, notably Jeff Bezos, the owner of The Washington Post. Although the president has frequently clashed with Bezos and his publication, he recently expressed a more conciliatory tone, claiming that the billionaire had privately voiced frustrations about the financial losses of running the paper. Trump noted that Bezos described the staff as “out of control” and expressed disbelief at the amount of money he was losing.
Despite this, Trump acknowledged a shift in his relationship with Bezos, referring to him as “a good guy” now, compared to their earlier tensions. The president also highlighted changes at The Washington Post, including a more market-friendly editorial approach, which he described as “great.”
Trump’s relationship with the media has always been tumultuous, but his recent remarks suggest a growing frustration with outlets he believes are unfairly critical.
