A small sculpture capturing the dramatic aftermath of the July 2024 assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump has been placed on display in the Oval Office.
The statue, which depicts the moment Trump raised his bloodied fist and shouted “Fight! Fight! Fight!” to supporters after being shot in the ear, now sits on a side table next to the Resolute Desk.
The White House also shared an image of the sculpture on X, captioning it with the president’s rallying cry, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Congratulations!

The dramatic scene was from Trump’s campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired multiple shots, grazing the then-presidential candidate’s ear. In the sculpture, Trump is shown with three Secret Service agents, including current director Sean Curran, trying to shield and move him offstage.
A vertically-hung American flag, as it appeared at the Butler rally, is also part of the piece.

According to the Trump Statue Project website, artist Stan Watts, best known for his patriotic bronze works, plans to create a larger, 9-foot tall version of the statue. “It symbolizes the divine intervention as well as the man and his message of unity and resilience for which America stands,” the project stated.

The raised fist image has gained iconic status among Trump’s MAGA base, appearing on campaign merchandise sold via Trumpstore.com.

This is not the only artistic tribute to the July shooting on display at the White House. Last month, a painting by artist Marc Lipp based on a now-famous image by New York Times photographer Doug Mills was mounted in the Grand Foyer of the East Wing, replacing the portrait of former US President Barack Obama.

The artwork shows Trump with blood splattered across his face, fist raised, and the American flag in the background.

Special assistant to the president Harrison Fields clarified that Obama’s portrait remains on the State Floor, now positioned above FDR’s Steinway grand piano in the Entrance Hall.

Since returning to office in January, Trump has dramatically personalised the West Wing, adding gold touches to furniture and décor reminiscent of Mar-a-Lago.

Front pages from The Post highlighting his political comeback, including his Georgia mug shot from August 2023, now line the hall outside the Oval Office.
