MAGA vs Walmart: Heiress Christy Walton asks Americans to attend 'No Kings day' protest on Trump's birthday
Walmart heiress gives advertisement on NYT to mobilize protest on No Kings Day on June 14 which is also Donald Trump’s birthday.

MAGA activists gave a boycott call for Walmart after Walmart heiress Christy Walton, the daughter-in-law of Walmart founder Sam Walton, gave a full-page ad in the New York Times urging Americans to attend the ‘No Kings Day’ protests on June 14, President Donald Trump’s birthday. The advertisement did not mention Trump, and Walmart was quick to distance itself from it. Walmart said Christy Walton does not serve on the board of Walmart and hence plays no decision-making role. But the damage is done as MAGA voices like Anna Paulina Luna, Laura Loomer, Kari Lake tore through the Walmart leadership for allowing the advertisement to come out under some family member’s name. Yes, it did not mention Walmart and specifically added that the views represented are solely those of Christy Walton’s.

What did Christy Walton’s ad say?

Reports confirmed that Christy Walton paid for the advertisement that said: “The honor, dignity and integrity of our country is not for sale.” It also said that it was a paid political advertisement.

What is No Kings Day?

Progressives are holding more than 1500 No Kings Day events across the country on Donald Trump’s birthday on June 14 which is also the US Army’s 250th birthday. Organizer Ezra Levin said the LA riots brought many more supporters to the No Kings Day. Originally, the No Kings Day parade was supposed to be a protest against a military parade on Donald Trump’s birthday as they accuse the president of celebrating his birthday using the military. “This country doesn’t belong to a king — and we’re not letting him throw himself a parade funded by tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars while stealing from us and stripping away our rights, our freedoms, and the programs our families rely on,” the organisers said in a statement last month.

Trump, Walmart feud

Walmart recently clashed with Trump over tariff after it announced that it would increase prices on various products including toys, electronics, and grocery items like bananas and avocados, due to the financial strain of Trump’s tariffs. Trump blamed Walmart and said the company should ”eat the tariff’ instead of passing it on to the consumers.
