After President Donald Trump clarified his stance on a ‘regime change’ in Iran, the MAGA got further divided as those who still sided with the US attack on Iran’s three nuclear sites could not approve that the US would now want a regime change in Iran. Especially after Vice President JD Vance, defense secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that US was not aiming at a regime change in Iran. Trump’s statement that if the present regime is not Making Iran Great Again, then why its should not be changed came across as a humiliation to his top aides who were privy to US’s Operation Midnight Hammer. “It’s not politically correct to use the term, “Regime Change,” but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.JD Vance earlier said dropping bombs on Iran’s nuclear sites was a tactical move, US is not at war with Iran. “We are at war with Iran’s nuclear program,” Vance said. “Well, look, that’s up to the Israelis, but our view has been very clear that we don’t want a regime change. We do not want to protract this or build this out any more than it’s already been built out. We want to end their nuclear program, and then we want to talk to the Iranians about a long-term settlement here.”Rubio said US was not attacking Iranian people. “This wasn’t a regime-change move. This was designed to degrade and/or destroy three nuclear sites related to their nuclear weaponization ambitions, and that was delivered on yesterday,” he said.Hegseth too said it was not about regime change. “The President authorized a precision operation to neutralize the threats to our national interests posed by the Iranian nuclear program”.
Marjorie Taylor Greene says it feels like a complete bait
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said Trump’s MAGA agenda included no more foreign wars, nor more regime change. “It feels like a complete bait and switch to please the neocons, warmongers, military industrial complex contracts, and neocon tv personalities that MAGA hates and who were NEVER TRUMPERS!” she said. Right-wing commentator Candace Owens marveled at Trump’s use of the expression ‘regime change’ and said now ‘REAL MAGA’ would explain to the ‘traitors’ how resisting Iran’s regime change is “woke right”. Another MAGA commentator Alex Jones accused Trump of breaking his promise to the American people and “pushing the planet to the edge of a NUCLEAR WORLD WAR’.
