'It's a shame': Vivek Ramaswamy reacts to racial attacks against Zohran Mamdani, Usha Vance and him
Vivek Ramaswamy spoke out against racial attacks — be it from the ‘fringe of the right’ or from the ‘woke left’.

GOP leader and Ohio Guv election candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has finally broken his silence on the ongoing racial attack against him, Second Lady Usha Vance and now New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani — all because of their Indian-origin. While Vivek and Usha are regular targets of social media, Mamdani joined the list after his surprising win in the democratic primary.Though on the polar opposites in politics, parallels have been drawn between Vivek and Mamdani — Mamdani eating rice with his hand with Vivek sitting barefoot for an interview, which Americans found assaulting for their taste. Mamdani has been called the ‘Vivek of the Left’ and Vivek has been called ‘Mamdani of the Right’ while some haters are of the opinion that both of them should have no place in US politics. “When conservatives attack Zohran Mamdani for being a foreigner, I just want them to keep the same energy with Vivek Ramaswamy and Usha Vance. Let’s be consistent,” far-right commentator Nicholas Joseph Fuentes wrote.Vivek Ramaswamy reposted the statement and added: ‘It’s a shame to watch the race-obsessed fringe of the right try to outdo the race-obsessed woke left.”The post drew attacks with people calling Vivek Ramaswamy ‘anchor baby’ who should go back to India. “Indians need to stay in India. It’s that simple,” one wrote. “It’s a shame you actually believe you are an American. You are a big pharma conman who should be naturalized and deported,” another wrote. “We are going to deport you back to India,” a third user wrote.

Indian origins of Vivek Ramaswamy, Usha Vance and Zohran Mamdani

None of them were born in India, though their parents were. Vivek Ramaswamy was born in Cincinnati to immigrant parents while Usha Vance was born in California to Telugu immigrant parents. Zohran Mamdani was born in Uganda and came to the US at the age of seven in 1998. Mamdani became US citizen in 2018 while Vivek Ramaswamy and Usha Vance were natural born citizens of US.
