Jeffery Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell is ready to testify before the US Congress about the Epstein files, UK news outlet Daily Mail reported citing sources.Daily Mail reported that Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking, is “more than happy to sit before Congress and tell her story.” However, the US government has never asked her to disclose what she knows.Maxwell is also seeking to appeal her conviction in the US Supreme Court. On July 14, lawyers for the US government will submit their response to her plea for the Supreme Court to take up her case.Maxwell was convicted in 2022 over her role in a scheme to help Epstein sexually exploit and abuse multiple underage girls over the course of a decade. She argues that she should have been protected under a 2007 Non-Prosecution Agreement reached between Epstein and prosecutors. In that deal, he pleaded guilty to two minor charges of prosecution and had to spend little time behind bars. The source further added that while Trump was seen with Epstein in public and social events, he was also one of the first to cut ties with him, reportedly due to a business dispute and Epstein’s treatment of women.“There are no big shocks about President Trump in the Epstein Files. But there are a lot of powerful men involved and a lot of money and it will come down to following the money,” it added. This comes amid the ongoing criticism of the Trump administration after the department of justice’s claim that there is no Epstein “client list” and over surveillance footage from the jail where Epstein died in 2019. he DOJ maintains that Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. However, critics have pointed to a missing portion of the jail video, which does not show the jail door or the inside of Epstein’s cell. The DOJ has stated that no further prosecutions are expected in connection with Epstein’s case. That includes British royal Prince Andrew, who was accused by Virginia Giuffre of sexually abusing her when she was 17. Prince Andrew has denied the allegations and settled a civil case with Giuffre without admitting any wrongdoing.Responding to the accusations on Saturday, in a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump posted “For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again. Why are we not giving publicity to files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan and the losers and criminals of the Biden administration?”A source close to Maxwell said she “would welcome the chance to sit in front of Congress and tell her story.” The source added that the Epstein Files are as significant as other historic cases that have led to congressional hearings, such as former President John F Kennedy’s assassination and 9/11 attacks. This has sparked criticism among MAGA allies of Trump, with some accusing the Justice Department of covering up details of the case. Some of Trump’s supporters have also blamed Attorney General Pam Bondi for failing to release all files related to Epstein and his alleged associates.Several of Epstein’s victims have claimed they were abused by the financier and passed around to his wealthy friends and powerful associates, including those who visited his private island, Little Saint James.
