Cabot is reportedly married to one of the oldest and wealthiest families in Boston and appears to be married to Andrew Cabot, owner of Privateer Rum, as per social media posts.The Cabot family is reportedly one of the original “Boston Brahmin” lineages, an elite old-money New England clan whose wealth originated in the carbon black industry. The “carbon black” as known colloquially is a sooty ingredient used in car tires that stretches back the family’s roots in the region for ten generations.In Boston, the Cabot family’s prominence is so legendary that locals often say, “The Cabots talk only to God.””And this is good old Boston/ The home of the bean and the cod/ Where the Lowells talk only to Cabots/ And the Cabots talk only to God.” says a well-known local poem, reports the New York Post. Over the years, various family members have played key roles in a wide range of businesses throughout New England, including the rum company.The Cabot family fortune has endured across generations and was estimated at $200 million in a 1972 New York Times profile, the equivalent of approximately $15.4 billion in 2025.Kristin Cabot was a member of the “advisory board” at Privateer Rum since 2020 as per her now-deleted LinkedIn profile. She joined Astronomer approximately seven months ago as Chief People Officer.Cabot was previously married to Kenneth Thornby and they divorced in 2022.
