A short video from Adrienne Davis, the girlfriend of North Carolina quarterback Max Johnson, is making the rounds this week. In the clip, Davis is relaxing with friends when one of them brings up Johnson’s name. She flashes a quick smile, then jokingly warns, “You’re going to mention my man again? Are you trying to get popped, or are you trying to get along?” Her friend backs off at once, and the group breaks into laughter. The light-hearted threat was posted on Sunday and has already pulled in thousands of views across Instagram and X.

The backstory on the couple

Johnson and Davis met through mutual friends during his junior year in Chapel Hill and went public in January 2024. Since then, Davis has shown up often in the quarterback’s recovery timeline. Johnson missed almost the entire 2024 season after a broken right femur required five surgeries. Davis shared photos of low-impact golf outings and pool-therapy sessions that kept him moving during rehab, and Johnson has credited her for helping him stay upbeat.

Sister time in Chicago

The video is not Davis’ only viral moment this month. Earlier in the week she appeared in a Windsor Store reel from Chicago, striking bold poses with her sister while showing off statement boots and festival-ready outfits. Those posts pushed her Instagram following past 110,000, a number that makes her a potential target for fashion and lifestyle endorsements once college football returns to prime TV slots.

How Johnson is doing on the field

While Davis travels, Johnson is back at work. He took every first-team snap on the opening day of fall camp and said he “couldn’t stop smiling” after finishing practice pain-free. New head coach Bill Belichick wants the senior quarterback to lead an up-tempo offense aimed at erasing last year’s 8-5 record. The staff plans to keep Johnson on a moderated rep count until mid-August, but trainers say his leg has passed all strength and flexibility markers.

Fans react to the viral clip

Tar Heel supporters found the playful threat more sweet than serious. One comment under the original post reads, “Protecting the QB even off the field. Put her on the O-line.” Another user joked that Davis should hand out the same warning to ACC pass rushers. College football couples often headline for dramatic break-ups or brand deals. Davis and Johnson offer a lighter narrative: a young athlete fighting back from a major injury with steady support from home. The video shows her protective streak, but it also shows the ease of a relationship that has already weathered a difficult year. As Johnson fights for a strong senior season, his girlfriend’s quick-witted defense online has given UNC fans one more reason to smile.Whether Davis’ warning remains this week’s meme or fades by the first snap, it underscores a simple point: life around a starting quarterback is never boring, and the people closest to him are ready to keep it that way.
