Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s endearing response to a party worker during his visit to Wardha went viral.

Pawar, who was in the district to review development projects, also attended an NCP induction programme following which he dined at the residence of NCP cooperative leader Sudhir Kothari. When he was leaving, a party worker called out to him saying: “Dada, I love you!” to which he had the next best response (with a smile on his face): “I love you too!”

His response immediately cracked people up and he shared a few laughs with his supporters.

Earlier, talking to reporters during the visit, Pawar downplayed the meeting between MNS president Raj Thackeray and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying maintaining communication is a tradition in the state.

“Many leaders meet one another as well as with the chief minister, irrespective of whether they are in power or not. Maintaining communication with each other is the tradition of the state. There is no need to give a political angle to this meeting,” he said.

Raj Thackeray had previously met Fadnavis at his official bungalow ‘Varsha’ in south Mumbai, prompting speculation in the state’s political circles. The meeting came after the first joint contest by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray’s MNS in the BEST Employees’ Co-operative Credit Society elections ended in a humiliating defeat on Wednesday (August 20). The two parties’ joint panel failed to win any of the 21 seats.
