Brad Pitt’s 'F1' races past Scarlett Johansson’s 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' as second biggest Hollywood hit of the year in India
Brad Pitt’s action drama F1 has become a major hit in India, grossing Rs 102.58 crore and becoming the second-highest-grossing Hollywood film of the year. The film’s success is attributed to its immersive racing sequences, Brad Pitt’s performance, and strong performance in IMAX and premium formats. Globally, F1 has earned over $600 million, with strong performances in international markets.

Brad Pitt has once again proved his box office mettle with his high-octane action drama F1, which has officially become the second-biggest Hollywood hit of the year in India. The film has raced to Rs 102.58 crore at the Indian box office, going past Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World Rebirth, which wrapped up its run at Rs 101.89 crore. Only Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible-The Final Reckoning remains ahead with Rs 104 crore, meaning Pitt’s racing spectacle is now just a whisker away from claiming the top spot.Breaking down the collections, the English version of F1 has dominated with Rs 95.01 crore, while the Hindi dubbed version has contributed a respectable Rs 4.53 crore, with the rest coming from Tamil and Telugu versions. The film’s appeal has largely been driven by its immersive racing sequences and Brad Pitt’s commanding screen presence, with audiences flocking to watch the adrenaline-pumping drama unfold on the big screen. The IMAX and premium format shows, in particular, have seen excellent occupancies, underlining the spectacle value of the movie.

Rank Film Collection (Rs crore)
1 Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning 104.00
2 F-1 102.58
3 Jurassic Park: Rebirth 101.89
4 Final Destination: Bloodlines 63.18
5 How to Train Your Dragon 24.96
6 Thunderbolts 23.92
7 Captain America: Brave New World 22.84
8 Minecraft 17.82
9 Ballerina 12.58
10 Karate Kids: Legends 10.68
11 Sinners 10.47
12 Lilo & Stitch 8.95
13 Mickey 17 8.84
14 Snow White 6.54

While the India numbers are impressive, F1’s global performance has been nothing short of spectacular. The film has crossed the USD 600 million mark worldwide, establishing itself as one of the biggest successes of the year across territories. On its ninth weekend overseas, F1 grossed another USD 6.6 million with just a -34% drop despite facing new competition. Its international total now stands at a staggering USD 417.9 million across 78 markets, with China and Korea emerging as standout performers.

In the United States, the film has amassed $185.8 million so far, bringing its overall global cume to $603.7 million. With steady legs overseas, a planned IMAX re-release, and strong traction in Asian markets, trade experts are predicting that F1 could comfortably finish its run near the $620 million mark. What makes this success especially remarkable is that F1 has managed to sustain momentum week after week, displaying consistency that is rare for modern blockbusters. The movie’s blend of high-octane racing action, emotional drama, and Pitt’s charisma has struck a chord with audiences of all age groups, allowing it to maintain solid occupancies long after release. For Hollywood in India, F1’s success is a shot in the arm. With just a small gap separating it from Tom Cruise’s latest Mission Impossible, the race for the top Hollywood grosser of the year in India promises to go down to the wire.
