The Bata Group today announced the appointment of Panos Mytaros as its new Global Chief Executive Officer, effective September 15, 2025. Mytaros will succeed Sandeep Kataria, who has led the global footwear giant since 2020.

Kataria’s tenure as CEO marked a pivotal period for Bata. He skillfully navigated the company through significant transformation, including the unprecedented challenges of a global pandemic and a rapidly evolving retail landscape.

Under his leadership, Bata notably accelerated its digital initiatives, streamlined operations, expanded into new markets, modernized business practices, and laid a robust foundation for future growth.

Mytaros brings over three decades of extensive global leadership experience within the footwear and leather industry to his new role. He joins Bata from ECCO, where he held several senior positions, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer from 2021 to 2024. His distinguished career at ECCO underscores his deep industry knowledge and strategic capabilities.

Graham Allan, Chairman of the Bata Group, expressed confidence in the new appointment. “Panos is a proven leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for footwear craftsmanship,” said Allan.
The Bata Group extends its sincere gratitude to Sandeep Kataria for his dedicated service and significant contributions, while offering a warm welcome to Panos Mytaros as he prepares to lead the company into its next chapter.
