With the Assembly poll less than a year away, the closed-door Manicktala meeting is widely seen as a key moment in aligning strategy, cadre mobilisation and booth-level planning.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to hold a crucial closed-door meeting with senior RSS functionaries in Kolkata on Tuesday, underlining the BJP’s intensified preparations for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.

Sources said the meeting will take place at the RSS office in Manicktala and is scheduled to begin at 4:15 pm, lasting approximately two hours and 15 minutes. The extended duration of the interaction is being seen as significant, with organisational coordination and ground-level strategy likely to be at the core of the discussions.

The Shah–RSS meeting comes at the end of a packed political day for the Home Minister in the state capital. Earlier in the morning, at 11.30 am, Shah will address a “big bang” press conference at a private hotel in Kolkata, where he is expected to take questions from the media on both national and state political issues. Following the press conference, he will chair a meeting of the BJP’s state core committee at the same venue, focusing on electoral preparedness, organisation building and messaging.

News18 had earlier exclusively reported that Amit Shah is spending his year-end in Kolkata with a clear focus on micro-managing the BJP’s electoral strategy in West Bengal. His back-to-back engagements—with the party organisation, the media and the RSS—are being viewed as part of a calibrated effort to iron out differences, sharpen coordination between the BJP and its ideological parent, and firm up a roadmap for the tough battle ahead.

With the Assembly election less than a year away, the closed-door Manicktala meeting is widely seen as a key moment in aligning strategy, cadre mobilisation and booth-level planning. For the BJP, which has been trying to regain momentum in the state after setbacks in the 2021 assembly election in the state when it was confined to just 77 seats as opposed to TMC’s 213, Shah’s Kolkata schedule signals that the Bengal fight is firmly on the party’s national priority list.
