Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was transferred to Patna Medical College and Hospital on Saturday after his health deteriorated following his arrest in connection with a 1995 case. Yadav, who was admitted to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday night, was brought to Patna Hospital on a stretcher.
Dr Rajiv Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Patna Medical College and Hospital, informed ANI that a medical examination of Pappu Yadav is currently underway. He mentioned that entering the examination room could disturb other patients and added that Yadav’s ultrasound is being conducted.
Pappu Yadav’s arrest came after he failed to appear in court for an alleged land dispute case from 1995. The case involves multiple charges, including Sections 419, 420, 468, 448, 506, and 120B, and is linked to the Gardanibagh police station.
Rahul Gandhi Reacts To Pappu Yadav’s Arrest
Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was arrested for demanding justice in the death case of a NEET aspirant in a hostel in Patna.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said that Pappy Yadav’s arrest is “an act of political vendetta” aimed at intimidating the voices in connection with the case.
“Standing firmly as the voice for justice for this daughter was fellow MP Pappu Yadav ji. His arrest today is clearly an act of political vendetta, aimed at intimidating and silencing every voice that demands accountability,” he said.
