Extending his support to students in Uttarakhand protesting a recent paper leak, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday claimed that unemployment and “vote chori” (vote theft) go hand in hand. He accused the BJP of caring more about staying in power than securing jobs for the youth.

In a post on X, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha said, “Today, BJP’s other name is ‘Paper Chor’! The repeated paper leaks across the country have ruined the lives and dreams of millions of hardworking youth.”

He pointed specifically to the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate-level examination, calling it the latest instance where “lakhs of youth toiled day and night, but BJP dashed all their hard work through theft.”

The outrage was caused from a leak of three pages from the exam paper held on September 21. In response, many students, under the banner of the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh, have established tents along the road outside Parade Ground in Dehradun and begun an indefinite strike.
