Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sarcastically pulled the leg of Bhojpuri star and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan over constructing a house on top of a drain in the constituency.

The comment made at the event where the Lok Sabha MP was also present drew laughter and a funny response from the gathering.

While addressing an event of Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister congratulated the civic body for being declared one of the ‘Best SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehar‘ alongside GVMC Visakhapatnam and Jabalpur, in the Swachh Survekshan Awards.

He also applauded the contribution of the municipal corporation and residents of Gorakhpur in keeping the city clean.

On widening roads and drains, Yogi Adityanath said it is sometimes not easy as there are encroachments.

Taking a jibe at the Lok Sabha MP, the Chief Minister said, “Some people encroach upon drains. Ravi Kishan ji also built a house on top of a drain in Ramgarh Tal area. He has also encroached the drain, if there is a problem and waterlogging, then action is sure to be taken against him as well. If the drain is choked, then the Municipal Corporation will press a button and the drain will be cleaned.”

Yogi Adityanath further said that he told Kishan not to build a house there. “It will lead to inconvenience to the public. You can build the house some distance away from the drain. It will help in smooth flow of sewage,” the Chief Minister said as quoted by News18 Hindi, drawing a laugh from the audience.

Further pulling his leg, Yogi said, “Suppose Ravi Kishan ji and Kalibari’s Mahant Ravindra Das ji both are passing through a street, and due to darkness stray dogs start chasing them, then seeing their behavior, they are not going to leave them, they will definitely attack them.”
