Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday appeared visibly irritated when repeatedly questioned by reporters about the ongoing power-sharing issue within the Congress.

“Can’t you ask anything else? It has already been three months since this started. Don’t ask about it anymore,” he said, reacting sharply to queries from the media in Bengaluru.

The Chief Minister reiterated that he and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar would abide by whatever decision the Congress high command takes. “How many times should I say it? DK and I will act according to what the high command says. Whoever is speaking about it, ask them,” he added.

Making it clear that he would not comment further on the matter, Siddaramaiah said he would follow the directions of the party leadership and urged the media not to repeatedly raise the same question.

Earlier, Siddaramaiah asserted that whatever the Congress high command decides on the chief ministerial issue would be final and that he remains committed to the party leadership’s direction.

“I will not speak about it now. Whatever the high command says is final. There is no use of you asking unnecessary questions,” the Chief Minister told reporters.

Responding to remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who earlier said he has “no confusion” over the leadership issue as discussions had taken place in the presence of the high command, Siddaramaiah said, “if he has said something, you ask him. I don’t know. I’m committed to what the high command says.”

He also dismissed speculation about travelling to Delhi to discuss the matter. “why should I go without being called. I have work here, I have budget preparation work. If I’m called, I will go,” he said.

The leadership tussle between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar has resurfaced amid renewed speculation over a possible change in chief minister after the Congress government crossed the halfway mark of its five-year term on November 20, 2025. The speculation stems from the reported “power-sharing” arrangement between the two leaders at the time of government formation in 2023.
