The actress hosted a special ‘Choti Diwali’ lunch on October 19 in New York with her husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie. The event was full of festive charm, family warmth, and mouth-watering dishes that brought a taste of India to the Big Apple.

Chef PriaVanda Chouhan took to Instagram to share pictures from the event. She also posted a lovely photo with Priyanka, along with a heartfelt caption that read, “Choti Diwali to remember! We had the absolute honor of catering Priyanka Chopra’s Diwali luncheon today – and it was a total blast!”The chef added, “From our signature street-food favorites to a playful kid-friendly Diwali menu (think mini kathi rolls, butter-chicken sliders, mango lassi smoothies + even a mini dosa live station!), every bite was packed with flavor & fun.”
Menu offered starters and mains for all guests
Priyanka’s Diwali lunch featured a range of delicious dishes curated by Chef PriaVanda. The starters included Mini Kathi Rolls, Chicken Nuggets with Desi Dip, Bombay Sandwiches with gooey cheese, Masala Fries, Papdi Chaat, Bhel Puri, and Chilli Paneer Bites.For the main course, kids could enjoy Mac & Cheese Cups, Mini Pasta Bowls, Butter Chicken Sliders, and Veggie Pizza Squares. Adults were treated to rich and flavourful options like Kathi Roll Platters, Hakka Noodles Cups, Butter Chicken Curry, and Paneer Tikka Masala.
Mini dosa live station for kids
One of the highlights of the lunch was a Mini Dosa Live Station, especially set up for the little guests. Kids could choose from three base options, Plain Mini Dosa (vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free), Cheese Dosa, and Mild Potato Dosa.They could then customise their dosas with fun toppings like extra shredded cheese, ketchup or mango ketchup, sweet corn, coconut or mint chutney, paneer bhurji, and crispy sev.
Drinks and desserts added festive sweet touches
No Indian festival is complete without desserts and drinks, and Priyanka’s Diwali lunch didn’t disappoint. Guests enjoyed Mango Lassi Smoothies and Strawberry Shakes along with their meal.To end on a sweet note, the dessert table featured Gulab Jamun Cheesecake Bites, Brownie Bites with Rabri Drizzle, and Cake Pops, a perfect mix of Indian and global flavours.

After the Choti Diwali lunch, Chopra performed a puja on the main day of Diwali. The actress also spoke about her efforts to keep her Indian traditions alive and share them with her loved ones. She told British Vogue, “Every year, I make sure to introduce each of the beautiful Desi traditions I grew up with. We have a lovely Mandir at home where we perform Puja on Diwali, and many of my non-Desi friends join in, which makes it extra special.”
