The Delhi Assembly elections are set to take place on February 5, with the ruling party facing a strong challenge from the opposition. The results will be declared on February 8.
Chief Ministers of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and others hit the national capital streets on Sunday to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
Sarma, who has been doing an intense campaigning for the saffron camp hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal over his decade-long rule in the national capital.
While addressing poll-bound rallies in Babarpur and Gokulpur assembly constituencies, Sarma escalated his attack on the former Delhi chief minister and said that Kejriwal has now stopped citing the name of Yamuna “spinning the story” that Haryana government “poisoned” Delhi’s water.
While speaking on health sector, Sarma said, “.. He (Arvind Kejriwal) said that I have brought a revolution in health and education… He (Arvind Kejriwal) told us that we (AAP) have opened the Mohalla Clinic in Delhi and this is the biggest health model in the country… Is there a system in our country to build hospitals even on footpaths?.. Why is Arvind Kejriwal talking about such a big hospital? In a city like Delhi, should Mohalla Clinic be built or a Medical College? “

“The shop of corrupt policies and appeasement will be closed…Double engine government is the first choice of Delhiites!” he said.
While campaigning earlier in the national capital, Dhami said that several infrastructure projects including roads, expressways, and transit corridors have been strengthened here at a cost of Rs 68,000 crore under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dhami further targeted AAP chief alleging, “Kejriwal and his AAPda party do the opposite of what they say.” The hill state CM, while addressing another rally in Shalimar Bagh, also alleged that Kejriwal has become the “brand ambassador” of corruption in the country.
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, who had been at loggerheads with the AAP government recently over the “Yamuna water” said, “The BJP government is about to be formed in Delhi on the 8 February… He (Arvind Kejriwal) has only worked for himself and not the people of Delhi… If people asked him about his work, then he used to start blaming PM Narendra Modi or the Lieutenant Governor… The people have made up their mind that such a liar does not have a place in Delhi.”

Additionally, TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu, who is the second largest constituent in the NDA following BJP, with 16 Lok Sabha seats, arrived in the poll-bound territory to campaign for BJP candidates. According to TDP, Naidu would addressing a gathering of Telugu community in Shahdara.
During the intense campaigning, two of the CMs, Uttarakhand’s Dhami and Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Yadav, shared a hug as they met each other today while campaigning for BJP candidates. Both the Chief Ministers stopped their convoys and met each other.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi also canvassed for the BJP and took a dig at the Opposition, primarily the Congress party, saying that one-fourth of the salary would be deducted as tax when people earned Rs 12 lakh during former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s regime.
spoke about various beneficial provisions of the Budget for the middle class to claim that never since India’s Independence those earning up to Rs 12 lakh have received such a relief.
The middle class is saying that this is the most friendly Budget for them in India’s history, he said.
Slamming the Aam Aadmi Party government in the capital for its alleged false promises and corruption, he said its policies have led to closing of factories, adding that those who have looted people will have to account for it.
While on the one hand is ‘AAP-da’ which stands for false promises, on the other is ‘Modi’s guarantees’, the prime minister said.
