The man was not a random man and had a background involving the designer and the founder. The character was born from a creative idea by graphic designer Bill Holley, working for Nashville’s Buntin Group. He sketched out the figure based on Cracker Barrel founder Dan W. Evins’ nostalgic memory of an older gentleman sitting on a front porch in overalls. Holley later used a man from a manufacturing company, as he matched the description, as a live model for the illustration.
