President-elect Donald Trump said he had a great talk with Prince William on the sidelines of the Norte Dame reopening in Paris this weekend. But did the ‘great chat’ feature Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who face the risk of being deported as Harry’s visa involves some legal woes?
The Harry-Meghan issue is a low priority for Donald Trump as his son Eric Trump earlier said that nobody in the US cares about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But the Trump family’s allegiance is to the Royal Family and hence any drastic decision taken by the new administration that goes against Harry and Meghan won’t be surprising.
But as revealed by Donald Trump, there were apparently no talks about Harry and Meghan. Trump asked Prince William about his wife Princess Kate and father King Charles. “And I asked him about his wife and he said she’s doing well. And I asked him about his father and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad. We had a great talk for half an hour, a little more than half an hour. We had a great, great talk,” Trump said.
“He’s a good-looking guy. He looked really, very handsome last night. Some people look better in person. He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that,” Trump said about Prince Charles.
Two years after exiting from the Royal Family and settling in California, Prince Harry in his memoir wrote about taking drugs. Anyone who has taken drugs is not granted a visa in the US and a lawsuit was filed against him after the release of his memoir challenging his US visa — that either he lied on the visa form or he was given preferential treatment.
After Trump’s re-election, their visa issue resurfaced as the aides of the Sussexes said that Harry and Meghan were prepared to fight potential deportation threats from Trump. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have separated professionally as their joint brand is not getting the success they envisioned. Though their professional separation triggered speculations over their impending divorce, Prince Harry dismissed such suggestions.
