Diesel Vasu’s rise from a young fisherman to a Robin Hood
Set in the backdrop of North Chennai, the story of ‘Diesel’ revolves around Vasudevan, popularly known as ‘Diesel Vasu’. Vasu, a young fisherman studying chemical engineering, is mistakenly caught up in a diesel smuggling gang by his adoptive father. Following this, Vasu himself comes to the point of leading the kidnapping group, using his skills. The main feature of the film is that he is shown using that income to run welfare programs for his community, like Robin Hood. When these actions turn into a direct confrontation with a police officer and a rival gang, the story shifts to a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase.

Harish Kalyan plays the lead role in ‘Diesel’, written and directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy. Whereas Athulya Ravi, P.
