The three-day centenary lecture series by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat commenced on a high note on Tuesday, drawing a wide-ranging and diverse gathering of leaders, thinkers, diplomats and cultural icons.

The first day saw participation from prominent figures across spirituality, politics, and social activism. Among the notable attendees were yoga guru and entrepreneur Ramdev and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who is also a BJP MP. Political representatives from several parties also attended the event, including Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Anupriya Patel, KC Tyagi of JDU, Upendra Kushwaha of RLM and Srikant Shinde of Shiv Sena.

The opening day of the lecture series also drew international attention, with diplomats from over two dozen countries present on the first day. Countries represented included Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Australia, China, Russia, Oman, Israel, Norway, Denmark, Serbia, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, the UK, the European Union, Ireland, Jamaica, the USA, Brazil, and Argentina. Their presence highlighted the global interest in India’s socio-cultural discourse and the RSS’s evolving outreach.

Think tanks and multiple academic institutions were actively involved, reflecting the event’s intellectual rigour. Organisations such as ORF, TCF, HSS, the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, TEDx India, Thinkers USA, Infinity Foundation, and Pernod Ricard attended, which further reflects the RSS’s increasing focus on policy, ideas, and cultural engagement.

Over the next two days, the series is expected to feature an even broader spectrum of eminent personalities. Former Army chiefs, ex-Chief Justices of India, sports icons like Kapil Dev and Abhinav Bindra, and celebrated artists, including Manoj Joshi, Ram V Sutar, and the Dagar Bandhu, will participate. The centenary lecture series in a way marks a milestone for the RSS, blending tradition with contemporary discourse, while fostering dialogue across politics, culture, and international relations.
