ECI Bypoll Elections Results 2025 Live: The results of by-elections to five assembly seats in four states will be announced on Monday. The counting of votes began at 8 am amid tight security. The by-polls were held on June 19 for two seats in Gujarat – Visavadar and Kadi assembly seats – and one each in Punjab (Ludhiana West), Bengal (Kaliganj), and Kerala (Nilambur).
The voting process went smooth in most states, barring a few scattered incidents. A fierce contest was seen between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Pinarayi Vijayan’s Left Democratic Front (LDF).
These by-elections are crucial for both the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc as they fielded their candidates. Three assembly seats – Gujarat’s Kadi, Bengal’s Kaliganj, Punjab’s Ludhiana West – fell vacant following the deaths of legislators while polling was necessitated in Gujarat’s Visavadar and Kerala’s Nilambur due to sitting MLAs’ resignation.
Nilambur seat in Kerala logged the highest polling percentage of 73.26 % while the lowest was recorded in Ludhiana West (51.33 %) in Punjab.
