Elon Musk physically ‘shoved’ Donald Trump’s treasury secretary Scott Bessent and it was not an argument but a full-blown physical fight when Bessent asked Elon Musk about his promises of a trillion-dollar cuts, Daily Mail reported, citing Trump’s former advisor Steve Bannon, Elon Musk’s bete noire. Steve Bannon told Daily Mail that this quickened Elon Musk’s exit from the White House and the DOGE chapter to be over as Trump “clearly” sided with Bessent. Elon Musk and Besent’s fight started from the Oval Office to outside chief of staff Susie Wiles’ office and then outside the office of then National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Bannon apparently said, establishing the timeline of this physical fight. It is not recent but from the time when Mike Waltz was the NSA — and so unrelated to Elon Musk’s black eye that he did not hide in his joint press conference with Trump on Friday — and blamed it on his five-year-old son X. Bannon told Mail that the fight started when Bessent called him out and openly asked about his promise of a trillion dollars cuts. “Scott Bessent called him out and said, ‘You promised us a trillion dollars (in cuts), and now you’re at like $100 billion, and nobody can find anything, what are you doing?” Bannon said. “And that’s when Elon got physical. It’s a sore subject with him. It wasn’t an argument, it was a physical confrontation. Elon basically shoved him,” Bannon said. Daily Mail said White House confirmed the account of the fight as spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process. “It’s no secret President Trump has put together a team of people who are incredibly passionate about the issues impacting our country. Disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process, and ultimately everyone knows they serve at the pleasure of President Trump,” Leavitt said. Elon Musk vs Scott Bessent fight is not new as Axios reported in April that there was a shouting match between them but now Steve Bannon confirmed that it was not just a shouting match but a physical fight between them. The report comes as Musk Friday dismissed the New York Times’ piece on him, claiming that he is fighting with addiction and overdosing on ketamine.
