'Every day is Indian day': Social media post of a crowd at Niagara Falls goes viral
An undated video of the crowd visiting Niagara Falls goes viral.

A purported video of the crowd of visitors at Niagara Falls went viral on X as social media users concluded that most of the tourists were from India. The authenticity of the undated video is not verified but it opened a viral debate on South Asians milling around everywhere in America. The viral post, however, did not indicate anything but posted another video claiming that Niagara used to look like this earlier — with a diversity of tourists.“Just incase you haven’t visited Niagara Falls lately,” the user, a woman, wrote sharing the video. “no way was it Indian day?” one user asked. “That’s everyday,” the original poster of the video said. “Canada had the second highest Indian population. India is the first,” the woman wrote“That’s all of America 2025,” one observed.“Every day is indian day in Canada now. And there’s 1.5 billion of them,” one wrote.“How are you so sure they are Indians? Why not Arabs, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis? Being brown is not only Indian thing!!” one wrote as the comment section of the post started turning into an anti-India space. “I was there with my family last year. It looked just like this. The crowds were maybe 20% white, if that,” another user said. “OMG, I grew up there and this is what it has looked like for 50 years! Visitors from all over the world,” one user wrote, claiming that they could see nothing different in the video. “All over the world is 99% Indian?” another user schooled.“Too many Indians, I don’t think they are tourist but illegal immigrants that got in using a loop hole,” one comment read. “Does that mean the whites you expect to see can’t afford to visit there?” one asked. “Canadian side, I’m assuming. The US is still a majority white country,” one wrote. Some social media users even called it the ‘great brown invasion in 2025’. According to Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation data yo to 2016, Niagara Falls attracts around 500,000 Indian visitors annually on the US side and 250,000 on the Canadian side, but including some overlaps as visitors may cross the border to view both sides.
