Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes has been charged with battery, following an alleged incident in Berwyn, Illinois, last month. The 26-year-old, known for his controversial political views, is accused of assaulting 57-year-old Marla Rose, a local resident, when she confronted him outside his home.
Fuentes posted what appeared to be his mugshot on Friday on X, following the incident, adding to the ongoing media attention surrounding his legal troubles.
Fuentes also posted swear words and called for his release on X.
Rose, whose efforts to contact Fuentes stemmed from his controversial remarks on X (formerly Twitter) during the presidential election, approached his home on November 10. Before she could ring the doorbell, Fuentes allegedly opened the door, pepper-sprayed her, and shouted swear words at her. He then took her phone and entered the house. Rose spoke to the Chicago Tribune, confirming the details of the incident.
Fuentes was charged with misdemeanor battery and released from custody after being fingerprinted by Berwyn Police on November 27. His court appearance is scheduled for December 19 in Maywood.
This incident comes following Fuentes’ previous involvement in controversies, including hosting a dinner with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in 2022, which sparked widespread backlash. Fuentes, a prominent figure in the far-right “America First” movement, has also faced criticism for his participation in the 2017 white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Fuentes has also been described as a white nationalist accused of making racist and sexist comments.
Details about the full extent of the confrontation have not been released.
