Flying with Emirates? Here’s all you need to know about the new First Class check-in at Dubai Airport

TL;DR

  • Emirates has launched a dedicated First Class check-in area at Dubai’s Terminal 3.
  • It includes lounge-style seating, private check-in, and luxury design touches.
  • First Class passengers also get access to spa treatments, fine dining, and fast-track immigration.

If you fly First Class with Emirates out of Dubai, your trip now begins well before the gate. A new private check-in space, called Emirates First, has opened inside Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport. It’s only for First Class passengers and Skywards Platinum members. This isn’t just about skipping queues. Emirates First is built to slow things down in the best way, offering peace, privacy, and personalized service from the minute you arrive. There’s no bright airport signage or busy check-in counters. Instead, there are leather seats, soft lights, marble details, and quiet hosts who take care of everything while you relax. This move is part of Emirates’ ongoing effort to upgrade its entire First Class experience on the ground and in the air. And for travelers used to airport stress, it’s a welcome change.

So What Is Emirates First, Exactly?

It’s not a lounge. And it’s not just a check-in desk. Emirates First is a private area inside Terminal 3 that replaces the traditional First Class check-in process with a much more relaxed setup. Here’s what that looks like:

  • A separate entrance with a gold archway
  • A personal host who greets you at the door
  • Lounge-style seating instead of lines
  • Optional iPad check-in from your seat
  • Dedicated baggage handling

If you’re traveling with family, one person can handle check-in while everyone else stays seated. There’s no rush, no loud screens, and no crowds.

What Happens After Check-In?

Once you’re checked in, things stay smooth:

  • Fast-track access through security and immigration
  • Exclusive entry to one of Emirates’ three First Class lounges in Dubai

Full-service amenities, including:

  • À la carte dining
  • Fine wines and rare spirits
  • Complimentary spa treatments
  • Quiet workspaces and private shopping
  • Family-friendly zones

And if you’re flying from a different country, Emirates has 43 other lounges around the world.

How to Access Emirates First Class Check-In at Dubai Airport

Who can use it?

  • Emirates First Class passengers
  • Emirates Skywards Platinum members

How to use it:

  • Simply show your First Class ticket or Skywards Platinum membership at the entrance.
  • A staff member will greet you and guide you through the check-in process.
  • Families can complete check-in at one spot without needing everyone to stand in line.

Booking and info:No prior registration is needed to use the check-in area; eligibility depends on your ticket or membership. For chauffeur service or home check-in options (available in select areas), visit Emirates’ official website to book in advance.

Is This Part of a Bigger Upgrade?

Yes. Emirates has been slowly improving its First Class product both on the ground and in the air. Recent updates include:

  • A new souvenir-style menu that tells the story of its wine and food offerings
  • Fine dining presentation upgrades like custom caviar bowls and rustic cheese slates
  • Gloved service from cabin crew for extra polish

The airline already flies more international First Class seats than any other carrier, so these changes seem aimed at maintaining its edge.

FAQs

  • Q1. Who can use Emirates First at DXB?

Only Emirates First Class ticket holders and Skywards Platinum members can access the space.

  • Q2. Is this separate from the First Class Lounge?

Yes. Emirates First is the check-in area. After security, you still get access to the First Class Lounge.

  • Q3. Are there similar check-in spaces in other cities?

No, this experience is currently only available at Dubai International Airport.
