‘I’m just getting started': Bobby Deol clocks 30 years in Bollywood with a promising comeback
Bobby Deol marked 30 years in Bollywood, making a strong comeback with hits like ‘Animal’ and ‘Class of ’83’. His latest film, ‘Bandar’, premiered at TIFF. Upcoming projects include ‘Alpha’ and ‘Jana Nayagan’. Son of Dharmendra, Bobby shared gratitude for his fans and a promising future ahead.

Bobby Deol made his debut in Bollywood with the movie ‘Barsaat’ back in 1995. Celebrating 30 years in the film industry, he feels that his best work is still ahead of him. Following his debut, he featured in notable films like ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’, ‘Kareeb’, ‘Soldier’, ‘Badal’, ‘Hum To Mohabbat Karega’, ‘Bichhoo’, ‘Ajnabee’, ‘Humraaz’ and ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’. However, after this successful streak, his career experienced a slump.

Bobby Deol’s recent comeback

The actor had some success with movies like ‘Apne’, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ and ‘Housefull 4’. But recently, he made a strong comeback with films like ‘Class of ’83’, ‘Aashram’, ‘Animal’, ‘Love Hostel’ and ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. He is the son of famous actor Dharmendra and brother of Sunny Deol. On Instagram, he shared a video with posters of his movies and talked about how ‘Animal’ changed his life.

Deol took to his social media handle to share a message with his fans.“30 years of many emotions on and off screen … all made worthwhile by your love. She reposted Bobby’s video on her Instagram stories, captioning it with, “30 years and lots lots more power @iambobbydeol,” along with heart emojis. The montage displays the posters of Bobby’s films over the years, highlighting his recent success, ‘Animal’. In the video, Bobby shares, “I’ve been a part of some amazing films throughout my career. But then, Animal changed everything for me. Grateful and overwhelmed with the love I’ve always received from my fans. To all my fans who stood by me. I love you, I love you, I love you. I just started and I have a long way to go.”

Bobby Deol’s upcoming film, ‘Bandar’

Deol’s new movie, ‘Bandar,’ was showcased in the Special Presentations section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film is about a superstar accused of rape and talks about power, trauma, and problems in the legal system. It is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Nikhil Dwivedi. The movie also stars Saba Azad, Sanya Malhotra, and Sapna Pabbi.

Bobby Deol’s other projects

On the work front, Bobby Deol has multiple projects lined up, including ‘Alpha’, which stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, ‘Alpha’ will be released during the festive Christmas weekend of 2025. The film is the seventh addition to the production house’s popular spy franchise that began with the ‘Tiger’ series featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Additionally, Bobby will be seen in the political action thriller ‘Jana Nayagan’, sharing the screen with Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani in key roles.
