Internet users were enraged by D’Souza’s remarks, calling him a propagandist and a racist. Netizens pointed out the irony of a Christian Indian-origin commentator attacking a Muslim Indian-origin who is aspiring to enter politics — something they said he should be proud of. Many added that D’Souza’s attitude showed how deeply “white privilege” had influenced him.
