In a significant boost to the textile industry, Arvind Ltd acquired land in Budhi Barlai village in Indore district, with plans to produce 60 lakh garments annually in the first phase of its operation. The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) allocated 12 hectare land to the Arvind Group, with letters of intent already issued.

In a parallel development, another prominent garment manufacturer, Noize Jeans Ltd , also secured 12.5 hectares in Budhi Barlai for its own textile and apparel manufacturing unit.

Together, these two companies are set to invest a staggering Rs 584 crore, creating approximately 12,000 new jobs in the region.

The Arvind Group plans to establish a garment park in the region, while Noize Jeans Ltd will focus on nine different manufacturing activities, including the production of sweaters, denim, and footwear.

Himanshu Prajapati, Executive Director of MPIDC for the Indore region, said, “The development will extend beyond mere production facilities. Plans include the creation of essential infrastructure such as plug-and-play units for auxiliary businesses, residential areas for employees, medical facilities, a police station, a fire station, and a commercial complex, all designed to support the burgeoning workforce.”

Additionally, the closed Barlai sugar mill, located about 25 kilometres from Indore, along with surrounding vacant land totalling around 33 hectares, has been converted into an industrial area dedicated to the textile sector.
