Winter Session Of Parliament: Bills On Atomic Energy, Excise On Agenda; Oppn Gears Up For SIR

The Winter Session of Parliament will commence on December 1, engaging the 18th Lok Sabha and 269th Rajya Sabha in over 15 sittings across 19 days. Lawmakers are expected to debate key legislative and financial matters, with several important bills, including the Health Security and National Security Cess Bill, on the agenda. The first batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2025-26, along with the Appropriation Bill, will also be presented. Private Members’ business is scheduled for December 5 and 19. The opposition plans to raise issues such as India-Pakistan ceasefire mediation, trade agreements, and China relations. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju assured that the government is prepared to address all concerns, while the session provides a platform for critical policy discussions until December 19.
