The move comes as the network looks to shift the show’s focus and appeal to a broader audience.Almin Karamehmedovic, the president of ABC News, reportedly held a meeting with The View’s executive producer Brian Teta and the show’s hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, to deliver the message.The report says Karamehmedovic suggested the show balance its political discussions with lighter content, pointing to recent successful episodes that featured celebrity guests. Sources told The Daily Beast that both Karamehmedovic and Iger were “perturbed” or concerned by the show’s approach and encouraged the team to broaden their themes.However, the suggestion didn’t go down well. The hosts “pushed back forcefully” on the feedback and were reportedly unimpressed by the idea of limiting political commentary.
