Ivana Trump’s infamous NYC townhouse — where she died — is now nearly $9 million cheaper but still can’t find buyer

The gilded New York townhouse where Ivana Trump tragically fell to her death has just taken another dramatic price cut, now listed at $17.9 million, according to the New York Post. The six-story Lenox Hill mansion, once dripping in pink onyx and leopard print, became infamous after the former wife of Donald Trump, 73, was found dead at the base of its sweeping staircase in July 2022. Nearly three years later, the opulent property has proven a tough sell despite its prime Upper East Side address. When it first hit the market in November 2022, the 8,725-square-foot home was listed for a lofty $26.5 million. By September 2023, it had fallen to $22.5 million before being quietly pulled from the market. Relisted at $19.5 million in June 2024, the latest chop brings the price down nearly $9 million from its original ask.Inside, the townhouse offers five bedrooms, five baths, a private elevator, and a central staircase that now carries grim associations. The interiors reflect Ivana’s famously extravagant taste: a gold-embossed fireplace, silk wallpaper, and a chandelier meant to impress. The primary suite spans the third floor, complete with a pink onyx bathroom and a leopard-print office, a design style some brokers now call “tacky luxe.”Ivana, who bought the property for just $2.5 million in 1992 after divorcing Donald Trump, raised her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, within its ornate walls. Following her sudden death, she was laid to rest at the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
